We have done several of these , I was nervous about using hypo but it was fine , I used a mix of 5 to 1 let it dwell for 10 minutes then a very light scrub with wfp rinse off job done . That was about 3 years ago and have done the same decking each year the same way without any problems, I expect some will say you shouldn't use it but I personally have done a number like this to very good effect without bleaching the decking , just don't leave it on for to long as soon as the algi disappears rinse it down

Thanks really appreciate your help  :) . I will now give the customer the option of her manufacturers recommended expensive option or the hypo .

I've seen with my own eyes what bleach can do on composite decking. Custard tried to do his own and took the colour out of it so was left with splash bleached stain marks. Told me he had used household bleach. lol

We found without using hypo the Algi returned quickly as the spores were in the joints and the grain of the plastic the hypo killed this and stoped it returning for a much longer period , you could treat it after washing with something like algo clear pro which should also have the same effect but hypo is much cheaper
