Anyhoo.. I thought what better way to start than to do my own drive.. I currently have a Karcher K3.540, which is a decent domestic piece... 120 bar and 6 lpm, however I only have a turbo hose..
Now my drive.. its been down for over 20 years.. there are gaps.. its covered in moss, stones and basically all kinds of rubbish.. I reckon this was a brilliant one to start on as its been like a batism of fire.. I've learnt the following from today
1) Bits of crap will fly everywhere.. even on next doors brand new washed car when they pull up on the next drive, and you haven't seen them,
2) A turbo lance is great, but rubbish at anything apart from blasting dirt
3) Deffo need a water butt or tank, as an outdoor tap struggles to keep up with 6lpm
4) 6lpm is rubbish and nowhere near enough to clean a drive
5), I need a wet vac to collect up all the huge amounts of crud.. a spade is great but misses bits in the gaps on tarmac
6) swarfega oil remover is shockingly bad...
7) anything smaller than 18 inch simply isn't a big enough brush for a driveway
wellies are a must have.. rigger boots don't cut it
9) Some drives (as badly constructed as mine, are just either going nto be turned down or littered with disclaimers
10) Keep the hose on a reel unless you need to take it off... #trippedup
