Hi Guys..

I have a 650 litre 2 man system and would like to add hot water...what would be the best way to do this ?

Does one tank of water last you all day?

If it does, then I would go the immersion route.

Hassle free and by far the cheapest and safest if it's done right.

Plus you save cost in the winter as it acts like a radiator in your van keeping all the frost off. 2 birds one stone.

I didnt want to cut holes in my tank so i went with a couple of 500w steel aquarium heaters which i submerse in my 500l tank. My tank is insulated and holds the heat. Its great for warming back of van but depending when switch them on, you only get a tank temp between 32 -40 degrees C.  I find this keeps ny main hose n pole hose supple even the pole which is great. At the brush end its still a fraction warmer than cold but ive only been on this a week and even tho not hot at brush end, it does clean better.
So tank heaters are good but if want hot at brush end then other options are better. Either emmersion or gas shower heaters for instance

It depends on what you want hot/warm water for.

If its just to stop water freezing etc then an immersion that makes warm water would be the way to go.

If you want controllable  hot water, not warm, to aid stubborn first cleans, gutter/fascias, conservatory roofs etc then a lpg heater is the way forward

I do like the versatility of using a chepo fastar 8l LPG 16 kw on demand water heater.  Still if I was an employer I would go for the much more expensive and safer diesel 9 kw water heater option.

Nathan a 500w immersion heater was never going to get it that hot....get a 3kw one and see the difference.

As Smurf has said, get a Fastar water heater off Ebay £100
If its for 2 users, i guess the easiest and most affective way is to use 2 heaters.
I would also use a lpg tank rather than a gas bottle, its not essential, i just find it easier

They are all overpriced for what they are so best to shop around for the best deal. It's also possible to knock one up yourself for about half the cost. Spruce has been playing around with these type of water heaters for a few years so will be best to advise.
