Hi All  im useing john guest1/2" pipe inside my van so are these fittings air tight? and do you need to use inserts like when you use push fits on your heating plumbing?
I ask as when fitting today i had to squeeze the pipe in to shape to fit the joints.

thanks joe

You need to make sure you use the correct sizes with these if you try and jam a pipe into a slightly to small female it'll get stuck, the same the other way if the pipe is only slightly to small for the female it'll leak. Fantastic fittings though if you want no leaks.

JG 15mm Speedfit is different to JG 1/2" that places like Gardiners sell. They're not interchangeable.
I use the 1/2" fittings & tubing myself as they're much more compact. No inserts needed.
