Pole holders? What's the correct name?
« on: January 16, 2017, 08:22:54 am »
I've been on the usual suppliers websites looking for van pole holders ( a bracket or similar to store my poles in my van) but doesn't come up with anything so does anyone know the proper name of these?

Pole rack.  A local fabrication business could build and fit you one to suit your needs.

soil pipes from b and q do a good job(fixed to roof of van with thick cable ties).cost you around £35.had mine in my van for 2 and a half years.(i have 2 and i can fit 2 poles in each holder.)
price higher/work harder!

Or a piece of guttering, i use the D Type, not the curve type guttering and its a fraction cheaper than soil pipe

Metal gutter brackets . don't bother with  the pipe . with brackets it's just fine

Better to use munsen rings as have rubber insert to help protect the poles methinks

The clamp is called a munsen ring

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rubber-Lined-Munsen-Rings-optional-Backplate-Pipe-Hanger-Clamp-Bracket-/332082206220?var=&hash=item4d51a4560c:m:mw-TxarxIi8aOJ2ePAavCUQ

You will need some threaded rod cut to the length you need.

Very helpful post as always spruce  ;)

Thanks Smurf. The only thing I ever learnt in Chemistry was what a Bunsen burner did. The rest didn't make sense. So to remember Munsen is easy.  ;D
