Is there a maximum recommended wind speed for using WFP?

I seem to vaguely remember reading somewhere that this was 35mph. I guess this obviously depends on the height of the pole etc... But what do you reckon for your average 22 foot pole?

According to the BBC, wind speed around my area is 45 to 50mph all day tomorrow. I'll see what it's like in the morning but I may move tomorrow's work to Saturday.

Bit of a daft question.

The only thing you can do is go out and see how you get on.

the main problem in wind is rinising and bits of crap getting blown onto the windows so i doubt there is a specific mph which this occurs, it will depend on the individual properties location

I stop once the wind speed gets to the point where the £50 notes are blowing out my wallet.

In summary:

Adverse Weather
In windy conditions extra care should be taken especially when moving from a sheltered elevation to one more affected by the wind.  Waterfed pole use is not recommended in winds above 25mph.  Regardless of wind strength, watefed poles should never be left unattended in an elevated position.

if your dogged and persistent you can work in most  weather and usually the weather isnt as bad as forecast.

I think some of you might be missing the point. If it is recommended that a maximum of wind speed for window cleaning with wfp is a wind speed of 25 mph, then you will probably find that your liability insurance ceases at that point.

And how would they prove the wind was above that were you are actually working, like everything it's simple common sense. Its recommended i dont use my car in snowy conditions does that mean my car insurance is void if i do?

It's generally the unsuspected high gusts of wind that can catch you out. It's happened to me more than once.

You've got more trust in insurance companies than I have, but there again I've dealt with them on a personal injury claim.

That's the best way.
Did it on This week and radio said 92 mph. M62 was closed.
I did 2 hours, no problems. Bins were flying all over. I had to do them because money was left out and gates unlocked. No one questioned me.
I went home in the end because I was the only windy about. Like working Christmas day, didn't feel right

^ this is correct.
My liability stops at 25mph, I still work past that but I'm  extra careful

On work under 30ft I've worked in very windy weather,when you get to the point it needs a lot of technique as well as strength or above 40 odd ft in high wind your gambling. A very strong gust will get you in trouble above this sort of height.
