Advice needed please
« on: February 03, 2017, 12:44:26 pm »
Hi guys

On a job this morning and a woman drove over my pole. Workin within a private car park. Arrived 7 an this morning 2 car parked in it. Coned off entrance. Woman arrived, moved cones from entrance and got into car.  Guy on job signaled to her that he will move pole. She totally ignores him and continues to drive , straight over pole and away. We got her details through shop she works in. She called me. Claims she never saw guy and definetley never saw pole. I explained that i have a witness and going to police. She then gets her husband to call up and ask me to get estimate  and maybe they will pay to have  pole repaired. I dont mind this, but should i report this to police just to be on safe side.

I would mate, especially with them saying might pay you. Not gonna be a repair surely, sounds like a new pole, so definately register with police. Is there any cctv for evidence of her moving the signs and doing the crime, that will certainly put weight in ur corner

send her a copy of the receipt for the pole and demand she pays for a replacement, I would tell her the pole is damaged and un repairable regardless, if you don't get the money paid today then I would go to the police as its criminal damage,

I would just go on gardiners website, get price of replacement to match size ..... Would pick an extreme for me troubles
Tell them the cost plus delivery, if they accept and pay the money ( cash ) it's end of the matter

If they start humming and arrring I would then say al cancel tomorrow's work and add that to the bill plus today's loss of work, and go from there.
