Hi guys, got a few of these to clean, cleaned them 6 months ago with stiff brush, virosol and pressure washer! Took forever!
Can somebody recommend anything that will lift the algae off of the polycarbonate?l, quick scrub and rinse off?

Matie, i come on here and ask questions and its very beneficial. But i also look through previous threads because chances are, its been asked hundreds of times.

Got to be honest I'm not sure what I'm looking at

You say polycarbonate so I'm guessing its a conny' roof?? If so it's organic matter on an impervious surface so it just need to be softened with moisture then scrubbed off , I would use the virosol but try and let it dwell as long as possible to get fully penetrated.


Might be worth trying a post application of an algicide a few weeks before cleaning to kill it off... might help

They are bike sheds, steel frame with poly. Have cleaned them every six months for a few years, and they are always hard work, a good 10 hours to do 30 curved sheets. Left virosol on for a good half hour, doesn't touch it. I will look for a algicide, didn't think of that and to leave it on. Once cleaned, could probably do with some kind of sealer to make it easier to get off again in 6 months!
