Tree sap.... The fix!
« on: July 06, 2016, 09:56:42 pm »
Hi all ,

I asked a while ago about getting rid of tree sap , after I did a 1st clean , noticed some windows near a pine tree had a greasy / oily / waxy kind of substance still on them . I used wfp ( cold water) , virosol, trad - all with no luck .
Went back today , put cif on a cloth , rubbed it onto the glass , then trad and it was off like magic! finished it off with wfp.
Never thought cif would be stronger than virosol but there you have it , handy to have in your van 👍

Must admit I've never had an issue with tree sap/aphid poop or whatever it is. Even the muckiest sapped up windows on my round just come clean with pure water no problem.  Are you sure that's all it was. Sounds like there was something else in the mix. Either that or they must have been super bad.

this is where hot water helps a lot.....tree sap, birdmuck etc.sometimes though its easier to get your scraper out after wetting the windows(ground floor only)
price higher/work harder!

Like I've mentioned in previous posts that is one of the reasons why I prefer to use hot water all year round as can save a lot of messing about.

If trad wont shift the sticky bobbles cannot see how wfp can . This time of year keep a bit of magic eraser in trad bucket quick rub and jobs a good un ( said prostitute to the vicar )

As has been mentioned above cif is abrasive, be careful you don't scratch the glass by using it direct.
