New type of sealent
« on: May 21, 2016, 08:04:33 pm »
Seen it all now. Driving home yesterday saw some fellas washing a drive. While taking my daughter out this morning drove past it again and it looked very dark and patchy, had to stop and have a look. What a mess, sand everywhere and what looked like oil splashed all over the walls and blocks. Thought I need a pic of this, I was about to take a pic when a women comes running out of the house shouting had I come to fix it …..After a few minutes chatting to her it appears that our travelling freinds have done it. All had been fine with the cleaning, (and to be honest it wasn’t the worst clean I’ve ever seen)it was when they decided to apply the sealant. They mixed their sealant in the wheel bin and then using a watering can spread the poop which appears to be oil and petrol mix all over the drive. She could smell the petrol and kicked off so they packed up and left saying they were doing next door in the morning so it would be sorted then, they took the money and f***ed off, she thought I was them returning to sort it out. I really don’t understand why she would pay them and after doing a reasonable clean they would mess it up. She asked me if i would remove the the oil marks but theres so much i'm not interested, if anyone wants to i can give her your number.
its in East Barnet

Pikeys have a reputation and ive never heard a good one 😃   so it always suprises me when tight fisted individuals some how think their saving a bob or two by hiring them, only to realise first hand what that reputation is.

The pikey jobs I'm aware of  around my area it seems people have paid out a fortune for a rubbish job so have been ripped off bigtime.

They are probably one of the best salesmen in the world too. That is to week and gullable folk which they activly seek out.
The best one is when asked "I thought the price included applying a sealer" they reply "It's already mixed into the water we use"

I did a job about 6 weeks ago while I was there a pikey called next door and pretended to be my boss

This is what he said......

"Can you see us next door? We will be finished quicker than we thought so have got tommorow free......we could do your for the same price as your neighbours £850"

I was charging £280

He got the job!! When I went back to resand I found out what had gone on

As I said in my first post being completely honest the clean they did was not  that bad although  nothing washed down and the rubbish and sand left in the road . The price they charged was exactly the same price that i would have charged to clean the drive but then they said it included sealing and poured the poop over it ........I ask myself...... why? pour the poop on it? just leave it! the mentality is something else.
The oil is really old black poop and its going to take some shifting . she wanted me to do it but its like a good day +chems and is going to cost more than she paid for the clean. I did get one pic before she came out, ill try and post it. oh and the drive is 175 squares
i havent even seen the back where they started sealing

Yes agree it looks like intended vandalism and they'll be sending another team round cold calling who can remove it. What would you use to get the oil stains out ?

Tim You were spot on! took her round some ot8  this morning and she said one of the fellas that did the job called and said he was shocked at the  way her pavers that must be very poor quality(not to mention the walls bins and everything else ) had reacted to the seal and for a price he would come back later and try and put it right.
I told her if he came back call the police because i really dont believe this will end well.
It seems our friends have been busy! Just got an other call about a bad clean and this time the sealant vanished after an hour!
He dosen't know how lucky he was !!!!!!
I just don't understand these people, we leaflet them, have ads in mags, ads on the internet, websites and can prove many years trading and they pay someone who knocks on the door to do the work and then are suprised they get ripped off.
Maybe we're the fools......

Went back today to see if I could remove the oil before I gave her a price. I tried ot8 a bit of resiblock stuff that's been on the van for a while and finally virisol and rinsed off between each application with 90 degrees heat  ...........the marks have faded but are still quite visible . Any ideas
Looked at turning the blocks over but there one sided

Tarmac over the top of it maybe  ;D

I personally would not waste my time nor would want my van/company associated with that job for all to see as its fooked.
