Spare kit...
« on: April 08, 2016, 05:17:02 pm »
Hi guys, I'm thinking of putting together a spare kit box, to save time on any sort of breakdown on the system. Just wondering what you kept in spares. I'm thinking pump, controller, fuses o rings.. Anything else got you out of a spot of bother? Thanks in advance 😊

Thanks for that guys  :) .. You're  not too far of the mark with the spare van M&C.. I have a ford mondeo with tow bar and electrics, and I'm planning putting a trailer system together in case of emergencies when I have time... A bit OCD I know, but it'll get used as I've friends in the game.

Just remember with things like pumps and batteries the warranty starts from when you buy them, so if you have one sitting
for a few years and it turns out to be a dud then you have no comebacks.
I keep a few bit and bobs like spare pole hose and connectors but anything else can be bought at short notice in these modern
times.
I do have a self built trolley system which will cover if anything happens to my van that would put me out of business for more than a couple of days.

Thanks for that Sean, I had thought of the warranty, in fact my pump and controller came from a supplier 30 minutes away and my battery from my home town, so no need to stock them...

All of us carry a full toolkit plus a spare of every single part in the system bar the tank itself, the leisure battery and the long pole.   Miss a day's work waiting for a part and it costs us £X*, so it's money well spent.

Another couple of years and we'll even have a spare van.

You've mentioned this before - what does it do?]

EDIT: Just looked, has its own Wiki page.  I think we'll try some.
