"If customers pay me to come back to resand the joints"
Hi, Smurf - I would never not resand joints. Re-sanding is always included in my quotes. What percentage of customers would you say you don't re-sand?
I never use too but I always break the quote down now. Then it's up to them if they want to resand the joints themselves or not as it's not diffilcult to do. Also that way if they decide to do it themselves and quite a few do to save a few bob I don't have to pee about having to call back after a few dry days to do it. One job I did the weather was so bad I eventualy got it done 2 months later.
I also insist now that if they want both done they pay for the clean on the day completed and again for the sanding job. That way you are not being messed about having to hang on until the job is completed to get paid in full. A good percentage will pay in full on the day of the clean including the resand job and sealing if required. However you will find some will not want to pay anything until you have come back and finished the job.
It's up to you how you go about quotes & payment terms but I find that way works best for me. Obviously if you are dealing with firms then that is a different story.
