im always around £100-£200 down a month on regular work actually cleaned than scheduled due to access issues(front onlys),skipped cleans  due to building work etc.

most of my work is guaranteed income  month in/month out but theres always work/money i miss out on thats scheduled.


how about you guys?if you tot it up over the course of a month you might be surprised!

i make up the shortfall and more in add on jobs in the spring/summer though.

I don't think about it. I just look at what I aim to earn and go for it. There may be some 'not todays', but I am picking new work up all the time which helps me to hit my targets.

If you've got enough work it doesn't matter. I don't get these guys that schedule their work to the exact day and think if the schedule gets missed they're out of pocket.

The solution to all of these issues to get up, go out, work, end of day comes go home. You do what's possible given the hours in the day.

It makes no difference to me if I turn up to builders or similar I drive down the road and pick another job,I'm always behind and have to much really. 6-8 weekly cleans are much better IMO you can almost pick and choose what and when you do certain jobs a month comes round to quick for me and most customers,I only have a handful of monthly domestics the 6-8  weekly between cleans means I can justify more per clean and it's not like your calling round what seems like a couple of weeks to some people.

All my work from day 1, 14yrs ago, were set on monthly cleans. No 2weekly or 8wkly. Didnt give any options and when asked I simply tell them that they can, but it will be nearly double charge for the 2mnths of grime on windows. Funny no one went 8wkly. Now on wfp, have I gone 8wkly....must be joking. To maintain this fabulous clean windows for longer, they need regular maintaining with this modern technology. Therefore my schedhle is simple, each week has a round of work for full wk and then move onto next. So when get messers I can drop them (it peeves me off cause of the principle, just say I have no money n dont want em doing,,,,) as im always taking on new as you guys experience the same....so I dont take note.

There's always a customer or two that doesn't get done in a month but I'm always getting new jobs, gutter cleans, conservatories etc that the months takings are pretty much always more than the projected work to do.

It depends what your charging if it's £50 a clean that's the minimum people pay for SKYTV so when you look at it like that you definitely would be the first thing to go wouldn't you,if it's £10-15 a month that's a different thing I prefer to do less often but charge more.

True! Each to their own and the social status of the areas worked in must play a part. My residential, top end of my pricing is 25 -30, but on average my residential are more 15 price and so even at these or any prices, people view having windows cleaned a luxury rather than a necessity and so more often if they need to tighten the purse, bin cleaners,  gardners n window cleaners get shot first. But even during recession (s) weve all gained and lost custies which is also good for business as you get better prices than the ones youve lost. Or atleast thats my principle thats worked for years. Tho only really works for ones who have strong rounds and fully loaded with work as I am. Feel for ones who dont have the same work load who may not find it easy to pick up new to replace the lost work.
Thats why I quit commercial work, too cut throat for sake of maybe a couple of quid saved by the company.
