South Norfolk round available late October
« on: July 20, 2016, 04:42:09 pm »
Early days to advertise I know but I'm planning out a career change after cleaning windows for 10 years. I started the round in 2006 and still have many customers that have been with me 8 years plus. All bad payers have gone but I've kept a couple of late payers as the jobs are large, all they need is a reminder and they're decent people, just busy and forgetful. Everyone else pays within a week, many on the day.  I phone about 50% of my customers and they leave a chq or cash. The other 50% pay by BACS or send a chq in the post. Almost all the work is 6 weekly with just two 12 week days that I alternate. Its all residential apart from a barbers and an office block, I can't stand invoicing and chasing.

The round earns between approx £2200 a month, some weeks its £550, others its £600. There's plenty of scope for taking on more work but I've kept things as they are as it allows me to spend time on my new business. I have however taken on new customers who been recommended by a present customer, I've just not advertised for some time or pushed things as I'm quite happy as things are.

I'm looking for £9000, the round is full of decent customers and good work that I've built up over the years. Its not a load of crap, its not got many awkward windows and its all WFP. Access is good around 99% of the properties with only a couple where you  sometimes need to move garden furniture. As for speed, well this is where I'm the most happy, I work 5 hours a day, 3 days a week. I average £40 per hour which considering how rural the area is is pretty good.

Area covered - Long Stratton, Hempnall, Woodton, Brooke, Topcroft, Silver Green, Tasburgh, Saxlingham, Shotesham, Fritton, Hardwick, the Pulhams, Tivitshall, Brome, Eye, Oakley, Tibenham, Aslacton, Forncetts, Tacolneston, Wreningham and Flordon.

No jobs under £10, most are £20 - £40, a few up to £120.  I'm not looking to split the round and I don't have a van to offer. However, I am happy to throw in my 350l tank, battery, pole etc.

Any questions welcome.

Hi, looks good. Fifteen hours work for one man? the numbers are nice. How many sites are on the list, and do you think it to be possible for two men to complete in a single day? I'm going to run this by my partner, see what he says, if its still available.

Yes, I work on my own but obviously know the properties back to front so my cleaning is pretty quick. And its all WFP so no faffing about, I like to keep things simple. I normally start between 8.15 - 8.30am, some days I've completed £200 worth of work by midday but usually finish about 1.30pm.

I don't think you'd complete this with two people in one day, its too spread out, you'd need two days really.

This also works during the winter months as well, last couple of years I've not got behind due to a three day working week :-)

If you have any further questions feel free to ask or email me at phil@gaiaskitchen.co.uk

I'll be speaking about this tomorrow, we'll get back to you, this sounds like a good graft, indeed. Thank you for the reply and informative answers, Phil.
