You can replace the container with any composite vessel eg an 11lit or 25lit if you have the room in the back of van.  Just disconnect your container and connect the vessel up using qrcs already there. You can then buy bags of resin and refill as necessary.

Just a thought have you taken a tds reading of the water before it goes through the di cartridge?  We had a pro 5 in for a service. The guy was complaining of high resin use. The reading after ro and before di was 40ppm and our tap reading is only 100ppm. Turns out ro was damaged so explained high resin use.
Hope this helps. :)

cheers guys,

question 1: whats a "qrcs"

question 2: is there a simple test to find out if RO is damaged?

cheers pals!

Sorry,a qrc(quick release connector) is the hoselock type connector that pushes on to the end of the ionics di canister so the water can pass through it.

To test if your ro is okay take a tds reading after the water has been through the ro.  To do this just disconnect the di canister and take a tds reading with a handheld tds meter.  If your tds reading is low then its okay.  If it is high then eit the ro needs flushing, if that doesn't work then there could be a problem with the ro membrane.

But the first step is to check the tds level after ro.
