Tank Fitters
« on: February 17, 2016, 06:25:07 pm »
I'm currently using a trolley and backpack for my window cleaning but getting fed up lifting 25 litre containers every day.

Looking to get a tank fitted in my Renault kangoo van, thinking of 350 tank and I  buy my  pure water locally so don't need to produce water. Can anyone recommend a good company to fit it professionally?

Thanks for your help.

Hello mate

I had a kangoo on 57 plate and 350 fits just nice, av now got a trafic so bigger tank

When ever I have changed vans and tanks I take them to local car body shop, I have them make a metal frame the same size as the bottom of the tank frame, and bolt this through the underneath of van floor to secure tank to.

Always passed mots and never had a tank move on me since doing this

I did similar.

Bought some angle iron and made a frame for my 650L to "sit in" 2 sides 75 x 75, front 75 x 75 and back 100 x 100. Got the four pieces welded up and drilled for bolts.

6 x 12mm holes and 4 x 14mm holes in the frame and stainless steel high tensile bolts. The 12mm bolts through 100mm spreader plates on the underside and the 14 mm holes joined by a corresponding 50 x 50 angle iron length directly under the van floor under the 100 x 100.

Then 2 x 5 tonne rachet straps wrapped round rear of frame three times, through the baffle holes of the tank.

Then insulated with 50mm foam insulation board and topped with plywood on which sits a reel out the side door and a battery.

Been in 4 years and passed two MOT's.
It's a game of three halves!

Side question. Why haave you gone for option to buy pure water rather than produce it yourself??
If its storage space, ie ibc tank for storage in yard/garage to drain daily into 350 tankIin van. Have you considered producing tje water in the van on a 450gds Ro system? When I awitched from trad to wfp, this was the problem I faced. So I opted for a 500ltr tank (I purchased my fiat scudo based on this as payload has to be considered also) aecures via cage into van. My RO is secured above and each night I just top up filtering. But 500ltr ensures I wouldnt worry about running out of water.
I only ask as curious about long term cost benefits to you

Hope this is relevant,  if not apologies
