As it says. Just recently converted to wfp.  Everything is going well but the hose reel is a nightmare. I've got 8mm microbore  hose on an power up reeland it just feels stiff and heavy going round corners and even pulling it out the van. I'm spending more time arsing around untangling hose reel than I am cleaning glass. Please someone tell me I'm missing something to help.  Will the hose become more flexible in time or have I invested in the wrong stuff. Also is there a general method when cleaning a house e.g starting at the furthest away window and working back to the van. My reel can come in and out the van. Please someone cheer me up😩

I heavy duty coxreel is what you need those reels IMO are pants the centre plastic fittings Rott and leak in no time especially with hot water,cold water makes the hose feel like wire and like you say can be a nightmare but with the right set up you'll wonder what all the fuss is about

8mm is scunnert or something diabolical as the jocks would tell you.

Get 6mm instead, makes all the difference.

microbore is 6mm and minibore is 8mm.are you sure you didnt buy minibore instead of the lighter microbore?

if your using cold water in this weather then the hose is like wire and less manageable.couple this with your inexperience with using 100m of hose its no wonder your having a nightmare!

itll get easier with experience.we all had a steep learning curve when going wfp.

youll learn to "lay" your hose out when cleaning different jobs in time.my preference is to have a fixed reel in the van and hot water in winter.the hose is a dream to work with.warm and easy to manage.i used to lift the reel in and out all the time and its a pain.no need.

Don't pull the hose round corners of brickwork etc you'll ruin it in next to no time,as said pull out more at a corner so you've enough to get to the last window you will clean round that side of the property in time it will become instinctive to how much you need at each job by looking at it you'll know you have enough out of the van.

Thanks guys it's slowly coming together. Does having a reel fixed in the van not cut down your working angles. ??do you think the hose may eventually have a bit more give when it wears in. I bought the system from a local supplies shop and just presumed it was 8mm by looking at the thickness. 😂 Maybe I need to see what's on there and go from there

Some will say a reel out of the van is the way to go you can point it in any direction,forget it m8 if  you want a bad back go down that route. Get the best you can afford and get used to working from a fixed reel you can fit it through the floor with roller guides to get you any angles you need if you so wish,next to the pole and after the brush the reel is the next thing that will save you time.

I get on fine with 8mm. I have a fixed reel though.

make sure your controller is on if its difficult to pull as I found out and on full simple

also go hot its hard  to reel in in this cold weather on a power up reel as I found yesterday when I ran out of gas   as been said already fixed reel is the way to go 100%

Fixed  reel with roller  guide on the van floor  and one on the bumper (or thereabouts).
Works well for me
