So what happens when you get a minging job then and takes a very long time to do properly. Then say they bin you after the first clean as they have no intentions of wanting a regular clean?

Reason being some tell porkies on the frequency they want. Some just really want a one off clean without saying so you can easily get stitched up if not very careful. Charging double or more I've found is a very easy way to weed out the messers. Also in doing so you have not lost out on the extra time spent doing a so say first cleans.

I've found genuine customers wanting a regular service are normally fine with this as they realise their windows are in such a bad state anyway.

In general too many of us undervalue our time, anything that is different to regular window work should attract a premium rate

We charge double on all first cleans.

we quote over the phone so we don't know the state of the windows.

your first clean is a deep clean, it takes longer and uses more water so we charge double.

most people don't seem to worry about it, some don't like it.   we get about 60-65% of telephone quotes.

those we miss aren't only because of the double first clean. i think the majority of people who are happy with the reg price, happy to pay by DD etc are happy to pay double
