Changing Resin

Anybody using one of these?
http://www.cleaningspot.co.uk/acatalog/De-Ionising_resin_and_water_softener_resin.html
The problem with it is changing the resin, the inner workings make it very difficult to get the old stuff out. However today I found the solution
I attached a length of standard garden hose to the end of a 32mm Numatic vacuum hose, turned on the wet & dry Gutter vac and hey presto sucked the resin out, Simples! Now I don't mean to boast but it was a touch of genius!!! I'm thinking of contacting mensa and offering them my services? again

This is harder than changing the resin! Just talk among yourselves while I talk to my self. (a sure sign of genius).

This made me smile.
I never noticed the inner workings of those resin bottles. No wonder I have to shake it so much to hetbthenresin out. Thankfully I only change resin once a year so it's ok for me.

I had to change resin in a 50L Di bottle on Sunday and I used a vac cleaner. Not only did I use it to suck it all out. I used it to fill it

You used a Vac to fill it, now that is genius! So clever I can't work out what part the vac played?

Sucked the new resin out of bag and it went into DI.
I think a fair amount got stuck to the pipe tho on the inside :/ don't pay for resin so don't care.
