Airflex booster pod
« on: December 21, 2015, 04:17:41 pm »
Okay so my new pod arrived today from cleansmart,  I haven't had much chance to give it a fair test but we did have a small hallway to try it out on.
First impressions were dissapointing if I'm honest- I was expecting a major boost in performance but whilst it was clearly much quicker to lock down on the carpet or your hand over the cuff, obviously there was no more suction in terms of hg.

However in use using just over 40' 2" hose and a short whip I was pleased to see where those extra cfms are made use of.
The time the airflow is recovering after a few pulls of the wand locked down has reduced to almost instantly, something which bugged me about the standard machine.

Also the rise time seems much faster now too. I have another 50' hose arriving this week so I will give it some use on Wednesday and report back how it it's going after a few jobs

you changed to parallel ?   still should be a useful boost especially if u run the longer hoses .

Through  the same pipe hose you trying to run the airflow of 3 motors. All are making restrictions to each other. Theres is needed lift to provide force for more airflow thorough the same pipe. Parallel/series combination, 4 motors, only sound sensible. Sure it will help a bit on longer hose but its not worth the money.
Booster close to the wand is an option, not on the machine.

Hi John,  the machine was a standard pro 400 custom using the enforcer sd/hd setup.

I then mounted in parallel to give me an AO configuration.  Albeit Un matched motors- perhaps upgrading to two hd electros should have been first port of call.

I was enquiring about matt adapting it to a twin cord 2x6.6 or even the 1850w electros as they seem to have better lift with a little less airflow then the 6.6, as the booster came upon offer at 299+vat it was a much cheaper option.

Ran it today between jobs with 100' 2" and the wand was whistling at least the same if not more then it did at 50' with 2vacs. Also the lift is achieved very quickly compared to the twin vac. I believe the motors would produce around 350cfm with 130" lift,  but obviously there is restrictions on the system itself, such as the 1" orifice where the ball cage is

In summary- so far so good :)

No mate,  had a jag then this airflex pro. I find 2 cords a pain on small jobs, well I prefer 1 for power 1 for heat via my magma, but on bigger jobs and those where more hose is advantageous where I miss the jags power.

This gives me the best of both worlds

are u sure its  one inch ,   is there no way you could upgrade that ...  have they different plumbing for the storm , dont seem to make since to have two different stack or ball and cage sizes .
