Sat here in Madeira after just ringing back all the call I received today,

I changed my answer machine message to say ( basically) .... "busy working,leave a message and I will call you back later"

Just rang back 3 people who let a message 1 I booked in and 2 I made an appointment to pop and give them a quote next Tuesday, they had no idea I was 2000 miles away,  the line was as clear as a bell like I was just down the rd.

I can't believe for years I have lost work while being on holiday it so easy just to call them back on an evening , and I have opted into vodaphone euro traveller which means I can use my phone at the same cost as in the UK for £3 a day  so it will cost me £21 to use my phone exactly like I was in the UK

Been doing that for years Mike.
Was in Madeira for 2 weeks in July enjoyed it during the day but nightlife was a bit naff.
Try the Beef and Wines restaurant, it's about 17 euro per person for the house special but you get as much meat and accompaniments as you want. Don't get a starter you won't need it or just share one with missus.
Wine is about 20 euro a bottle.

Its all good , but ill be on a ship in the med next week , only a satellite phone will work , I will be on holiday so a trusted colleague will book the work in .

What's it like any good, apparently there are no beaches is that true.

i.m here with my mother in law. she likes it here so we said we would take her now my father in law has passed away,

 just got here this morning so not that clued up with the place yet, p!ssing down with rain but the hotels got a good gym  and i can do some open water swimming which i enjoy.

I am with" 3" unlimited everything about £36 a month. I can use it just about anywhere you would actually want to visit  in the world at standard cost. Now just need to get a holiday!

The question is, do you really want to be taking calls while you're having a holiday ?
Its not really a holiday then if you are working ?

I normally leave a phone with a relative and let them take calls and book jobs.......

I'm staying at the the four view monumental in Funchal .

I agree it's a holiday but also why lose money for the  the sake of 15 minutes a day.

if I said to you I would give you a grand if while you are on holiday You must sit quietly for 15 minutes each day, would you say ......."keep your grand I'm on holiday I can't spare 15 minutes."

The work lost would cost me more than I spent on the holiday. How is it not a holiday because of 15 minutes?  Feels like a holiday laid by this pool

BT Business all the way cost me £50 a month new IPhone 6 unlimited diverts unlimited everything on the mobile can ring 0870 0800 and 0370 on talk plan and same abroad as long as I notify them before I leave the country

Ive just had a week in Benidorm and just let the calls go to answer phone and I explain I'm on holiday and ask people to leave a message and I call them back soon after.Most do but I know some don't and I never hear from them again.

so you relative know as much about carpet cleaning as you? he can answer questions? he can  book work into your diary and knows how longs jobs takes, he know your pricing structure so can give prices on the jobs he has just booked into your diary?

Hi Guys

I've just come back from 2 weeks in the Greek Islands and the best part was not having to answer the phone.( The weather was fantastic too.)

We all have our own way but to me it's not a holiday if I'm talking CC.

Had 51 messages on my return which with jobs already booked in,  means I'm busy and relaxed!
