Ive been thinking about one for a while just to make it a little easier on the back and knees but the only thing putting me off, from what ive seen on others' before and afters is that it doesnt get to clean the step edging effectively?

I agree with you Shaun. They are difficult to control over the nosing.
Normal hand tool for me all day long.

Hate em ... and why are they twice the price but half the size of a wand
The kind of stairs they might suit well wide and deep steps i come across rarely .
I use a 6" for most stairs and a 4" for ones requiring detail .

Yep they are only good for limited spaces like toilets and small bedrooms.
I sometimes use mine on the landing then do the bulk of the stair tread as I walk down, then do the bullnose and riser with a hand-tool.
I would'nt buy one new but if I saw one on eBay I might bid on it

How do the low moisture guys clean stairs. What do they use. Would of thought an Oreck Orbitor would be too big for stairs but I have never used one tbh.

I use a stair wand 99% of the time, but then there are 2 of us so it's more easy to control. It's much quicker than a handtool, and great on commercial stairs. Like Mike they are great for confined areas too!
