When you say 'brand new resin', do you mean you've just bought it, or is it resin from an already opened bag that you had stored away?

Also, how olds your TDS metre?
Might be worth checking with another one first...
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

Are you using new hose or pipework?  Sometimes the water can pick up a little from that.  Also, have you tried the reading again after a couple of minutes running?  If no solution, 002 should be fine for cleaning I suppose.

Check that the riser tube isn't leaking and make sure your flow isn't too quick.

It's not just talk, it's fact. Resin, of all kinds, from all suppliers isn't a patch on what it used to be! I've been DI only for 12 years & never known resin be so poor as it has become over the last couple of years. Quality has dropped through the floor! ::)roll WE are being ripped off boys, no doubt about it.

I agree. Although my last lot was pretty good. Two or three bags before that were poor.

11 litres of di resin no matter how poor it is brand new should still start producing 000 ppm water surely?

As the di vessel is brand new too it might need flushing out for a while to get rid of any manufacturing chem residue left in it.
Also check that the head and riser tube etc is seated properly so it's working as it should then give it a shake.

If not mounted in a van for now best take the tds readings from the outlet side on the di vessel only so rules out any contamination from the outlet hose and let it run for a while to see if the tds drops down or not.

As mentioned before don't run tap water through it too fast as will form a channel otherwise and not give the resin time to work properly.

DI unit work on the basis of dissolved particles being either negatively or positively charges which it can absorb by then attaching to the resin bead of the opposite charge. There can be particles that are neutral and  will come through your D I not being attached to either + or - of the resin beads. These would be removed by a prefilter or a RO in normal circumstances. I would not worry about it as your resin life should  be the same as normal.
