New Portable by Klindex - Comments
« on: August 03, 2015, 10:01:05 am »
Klindex have introduced a Portable Carpet Cleaning Machine and I would be interested to hear comments on its specifications to start with.  If they are positive then I would consider bringing a couple in for people to try.  Please be gentle with me as I know SFA about CC.

Klindex Hot Water Extraction Machine
2 x 1200 Motors Power Total 2400watts
Airflow 340 m3/H
950 Watt Power Boiler Heating water to 60 Degrees C
Pump Flow 0.8 litres /minute
Pump Pressure 2 Bar
Detergent Tank 25 Litres
Main Tank 62 Litres

Please let me have your comments!  If there is any other information needed please feel free to ask!

This is the link to it where you can access further information such as exploded drawings and manuals

The spec and machine type is more suited to janitorial or a hotel in house machine for spills etc ... than a professional full time carpet cleaner .

We used to own a couple of these back in the day when Soteco made them for Contico under private label. (20+ years ago)

They were okay but spec is a little low compared to other machines on the market.

They are like a larger capacity version of the Numatic CT/CTD carpet cleaning machines.

Just noticed it is a heated machine. The ones I used to have and the Numatics aren't.

Jamie

If I bring a couple in do you want to try one for me and put it through its paces?  I don't want to sell them if they are not up to the mark but I can't test them cos I know SFA about CC ;D

They are probably worth a grand , but the spec is too low for a serious pro . An amateur / occasional user will probably buy an equivalent numatic at a much lower price .
I clean carpets

Apart from the body design  , the internal difference to a Pro machine would be  ...

The klindex uses a single cord  , so to keep it at around 12amps total  , the heater is only 950w  ,
so the the two vac motors would be around 4amps each  , 950w heater is 4amps and the little pump is about 0.5 or less .
A pro machine would have about 3000w of heat either onboard or external .  They are usually two cord machines and the components are selected to optomize power with the available current .

The Klindex  ...  would have two of these peripheral bypass motors producing about 250 airwatts each .

A Pro machine  might use two of these motors producing 600airwatts each

The Klindex pump is about 30psi   ...  this one  ,

A pro CC like to clean at about 150-250psi (or more )  so a pump like this is the norm .

Design wise the solution tank would generally have more capacity also .

Fantastic positive feedback.  I am always against people/manufacturers  entering markets they don't  understand.  Klind3x are without  doubt the market leaders in Stone Restoration  and I am a great believer in leaving the experts to deal with the market they are best at.

Do they do an unheated one?

Klindex wet vacs have always been fantastic.

If they do a squeegee with a spray jet it would be  useful tool for rinsing floors while you pick up.

John M's said it all really including the comment about pressure - a mystery how could they end up specifying a 2 bar pump (30psi)? I thought it was a mis-print on the spec - most of the small spotting machines have more than that and even the nasty little karcher puzzi things have 2bar - therefore it would only make a glorified spotting machine at best and a bit of a lump to lug around just for rinsing out quick spills etc. To clean properly you need proper heat and 5-600psi or upto 40+bar

Thank you for all the replies, comments and feedback.  Decided this is one machine in the Klindex Range I won't be bothering with importing now.  Thank you all.
