I also use the Gardiners medium mixed dual trim and have no problems with first cleans. If the windows haven't been cleaned for a while I spray diluted virosol (1:10) on the ground floor sills/frames and for the first floor windows I spray diluted virosol onto the brush itself and scrub the frames/sills before switching the water on.

The first brush made by Gardener is still the best brush.

Won't it be a bit worn by now ?

Answer to the original is - the same brush as you'll use on the second, third and forth cleans.
