Resiblock or smartseal (aka pics). All the others are crap, yet someone will be along to say the BnQ poope is decent.

The picseal permaseal is good, but not a gloss finish !   You would have to put a few coats down to get a gloss finish, but don't think it would last long  ???

Is it a drive ?

If so I would try to change the customers mind or use a penetrating sealer

It's a drive.  I don't want a high gloss finish just enough of a sheen to show its had a protector applied. How much would I need for 200 m2 ? I can see various coverage rates on websites but they tend to be on the optimistic side to make the solution more economical.

2/3 sqm per lt. £7/8 per sqm in Acrylic. Make sure the drive is not moving else you are waisting your time.Give it 2/3 days to dry out after cleaning.Smartseal or PICS are about the best of the Acrylics. Resiblock for the PU….adjust the price to about £10 per sqm.

I did 150m2 block drive, and was advised I need 3 tubs . . . . . but ensed up using 5 !    Really good stuff though, I was sceptical at first because it looks like you are just putting milk on the drive !         Went back to check on following day and the sand in the block was like concrete, well impressed innit  ;D
Dont bother using one of those silly stiff squeegees, if there are any dips in the surface it wont shift it.   Try getting a bendy one  ;D

If a customer wants an area sealing afterwards which is rather rare rather than me buying it I get the customer to buy it instead and I just charge to apply it. That way there is no combacks doing it that way as they decide what they want put down not me. ;D

I hate sealing, as your money is tied up with buying the sealer ( which is extortionate price ) and then you have to wait for the fine weather !
Only reason I seal now is if they insist, so rather than losing the job I reluctantly do it  ;D

Just promote these "invisible" sealers - dead easy to apply even in bad weather  ;)

Chris, those prices must be the cost of the product, profit & time to apply it?

So 200m2 would  make the PU  from resiblock would cost 2 grand,  the acrylic £1600?

Seems very high

That's what they are, one of the reasons why drives don't get sealed very often, that and tyre plucks.

Just spoke to resiblock they have quoted that I need 100lt of product at a cost of £876 inc vat and delivery

Not going ahead with the clean, they are a adement they want it sealing , and to be truthful I think they are being crafty as I gave a suggested price and around £600 extra to seal it, which I know now is way off.

I think they have had a price before so knew my price was way too low but hoped I would stick to my estimate and they would get it sealed on the cheap.

You might as well use clear varnish

Was it an estimate or quote ?

If it's an estimate your not bound by the price, just let them know re sealing is £1200
