Hi SeanK

My apologies for giving you cause to get fired up with my first post on this thread. I absolutely respect your right to your oppinion on both my comments and me being a 'drama queen' if that's what you think.
However, I don't believe anything I said was nonsense and I stand by everything I said. Sometimes the little gain is just not worth the risk. If we seriously hurt ourselves or worse, it's no skin off the customer's nose, they will just grab the next window cleaner that comes along. But we and our families will have to deal with the fallout. I'm speaking from experience. When I had my accident my wife was two weeks from delivering out third child. It was a lot of stress she could have done without, all because I took a big risk that I kidded myself was a small risk to make a few extra pounds. The consequenses of what I did still affect me now 15 years later. I would absolutely not do it now. That is why I agreed with the comments of Mike#1

Best regards to all

Mark

Mark we all take risks to make a living, I was nearly killed when some guy drove into the back of my van while I was winding in my hose, yes we have to manage these risks as best we can that's where wfp and other things come into it.
Personally I don't find the way I get over a gate to be overly risky as I do it using what I consider the best equipment for
the job and in a careful manor.
I'm not saying that I couldn't have an accident but then we all could in many different ways over the working day.
But to be honest mate I misread your post and thought you where having a dig at guys who are prepared to get over a gate
which I now realise wasn't the case.
It still doesn't excuse being rude and the only person that needs to be apologising is myself.

Locked gate and they dont get the back done simples , They get a text the night before and if its locked i aint climbing over no way no how .  :P ;D
I assume you charge full price if locked, otherwise there's no reason to be smug. If you text a lot of customers, your day is planned and there may not be an easy way to make up the income. If you employ, that's not good.

All gates are open except one custy who forgets sometimes but only bolted and it's an easy climb over a wall .

If their is a time when one is locked I am happy to lose a few quid by not doing backs , than messing on or risking injury and losing a 2 days work .
You are blessed if you have a round with no locked gates or customers that always remember.

Yes you are a lucky guy indeed, I remember when starting out I had about 10 or so that locked their gates, I would text the
night before and even put a note through if I was cleaning close to the properties the day before.
I would say 9 out of the 10 would have forgot to unlock them, as I needed the work at the time I had no choice but to find a
way over the gates. ( after a fair amount of cursing and spitting )
I still clean these properties today some have stopped locking their gates and some still do, but if there's one thing I have
learned its that these aren't bad thoughtless people who have no respect for me, they are busy people whose lives don't revolve
around window cleaning and to be honest if I had to unlock a gate I would forget also.
