Leaflets or direct approach?
« on: June 17, 2015, 01:03:15 pm »
Hi, we are looking for domestic cleaning customers so that we can set our daughter up with a little business. Is it better to leaflet or Knock on the door & ask if they would like a cleaner?
What have you found t be more successful?
Thanks.

Generally door knocking is the fastest way to grow a customer base,

However, I'm not sure whether this is such a good approach for domestic cleaning where you are working inside people's home ( potential customers )

We set up the mother in law and did leaflet drops which got more response than we get from window cleaning flyers, but ad's in the local parish mags and post office windows worked really well, it's a bit of a slow burn but everyone she got this way are still regular clients nearly 3 years later

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply Smuger  ;) :D ;) She doesn't want loads, just enough for 2-3 days a week. I've popped some in windows & dropped a few leaflets, so far we've had calls from the shop window.

I agree with Darren, knocking on doors can be very time consuming! and not very productive. We do postcard drops paying £25 / £30 per thou. You have to do the same areas 3x a year for 'jo public' to register your business in their memory!... it's a slow business but it works!

Thanks guys, do you just keep your leaflets really simple or do you put a few key points?
