What percentage?
« on: June 04, 2015, 08:06:33 am »
I have tried to get an approximate figure by searching , to no avail.

What would you suggest ? as an approximate figure is the percentage of t/m users with regards to portable users in the uk.

This question is not aimed at a tm v portable debate, merely a curiosity which if I am honest may be used in some marketing material.

If you mean dedicated carpet cleaners and not car valeters, General home cleaner & commercial cleaning companies who might offer carpet cleaning as a sideline. Then I would guess at a 80-20%  split in favour of portables

My gut feeling is 5% use a truckmount. In the Birmingham area I reckon there are only about 5 truckmount operators.
Starts at the bottom likes it and stays there

i'd say at a guess 1 in 10 so 10%.

you could do your own survey on facebook. simple question, what do you use, portable or truckmount, tick truckmount if you have both. sorted.

Like the idea  Derik,
I think a lot of f/b users would be better off been asked do you use a rug doctor or call a professional, mentioning t/m  would confuse most.
Talking of f/b  somebody posted a question the other day regarding cleaning a suite, some of the answers where amusing, one said the best thing for cleaning any suite is baby wipes ::)roll . I couldn't resist replying" baby wipes, seems like I have 20k worth of equipment for the sake of it"   her reply " I will send you some to try " lol  " I will take you up on the offer when I have another baby, which I doubt very much now" .
The good news is the lady asking the original question booked me in to clean her suite.

I won't go anywhere near mums.net it's annoying and self righteous I think its a waste of human resources I'd much rather waste my time on here or that other great institution of facebook at least you can have a laugh.
