spring controller question
« on: June 09, 2015, 03:10:00 pm »
im hoping Ian Sheppard may see this but if not does anyone else now of a way of being able to turn controller on and off without having to press the on off button?
i'd like to fit my remote control in the power line but i know these seem to only power on only when youve pressed the button rather than a switch that you can leave on and then cut the battery feed.

Maybe you need to invest in a new controller that is designed to work with a remote and then sell the one you have on Ebay.

Spring have a 2 speed remote that will be worthy of consideration. Ist speed for washing and the second faster flow for rinsing.

Placing a retro fit RF in the power line between the battery and controller will allow you to switch the control off, however you will need to manually switch the controller back on again.  The RF Relay will likely need to be powered from your battery.
In order to keep the user  menu straight forward the buttons all have more than one function. The processor needs to be able to distinguish between functions hence switch on is either the up/down key and off is press and hold the enter key.

The RF range Spruce is refering to have a wake up mode, To swich off the controller the enter button is pressed on the controller as above. This mode of operation makes it very unlikely a controller gets left on after the working day drawing current and with a pump sat in DE over night. .

There are three varients of the RF controller. Al three of these factory fitted RF will wake up the controller

The One Shot a simple on/off radio control that comes already fitted in a V11 basic pump
controller.

Flexiflo: A three button fob - a remote that allows the user to turn the pump on and off and also
adjust the flow rate up and down (0-99).

Wash & Rinse: A three button fob - a remote that allows the user to turn the pump on and off and
also allows the user to set the pump to two different flows, 'wash' for normal work or 'rinse' for a
boosted flow.

There is also the One Shot stand alone, This will allow you to switch the pump on/off but it will not wake the controller.

cheers ian, i thought there may not be a way around it, i might just make a cheap voltage controller and put a remote feed in that as im making my reel remote too so would like to be able to turn the controller on and off without having to stand there a few secs holding the button!
