Anyone had dealings with "driveway doctor"?

I think they were "drive doctor" and possibly called something else originally and I believe they are actively pushing franchises at the moment but by what i can gather the previous named companies have gone into administration.

any thoughts? (im not wanting to join. interested in their 50k min claims and top earner turnover 120k!)

What are they, is it a driveway cleaning franchise or is it laying new driveways?

Its cleaning,

I remember afew years ago on here people talking about franchises setting up and going bump with people loosing out. I was interested if this is the same people or if anyone else has info or been approached.

would be good to be aware if us independents have some stiff competition.

i know all about the drive doctors franchises guys, they are working from a national base in warrington for a company called betacoat which is a sealant manufacturer like resiblock, they use the franchises to sell their products.  i have had to deal with cock ups by their tradesmaen.  i have seen 4 sealed drives by driveway doctors and they were all crap.   two were a milky white colour after 6 weeks, the other had sand sealed over to the surface of all the blocks, the third  you could see patches of sealant all over the drive where thery had not rolled or sprayed it on properly.   i cringed at the lot of them.  also its a freephone number that you call through to head office and half the time you get no reply as they put you through to the nearest drive doctor to you.  i would not use betacoat as a sealant and i think us sole traders should work harder to get the work before these franchises take over.  god only knows how they survive anyway as the jobs they do are crap and what do they do in the winter? its hard enough without having to pay the owners back out of your profit.  to see what they do visit the website:  www.drivewaydoctor.info and see what you think.   cheers guys ;D

Yes, looked at the site ds.

Interesting the betacoat thing, obviously only really keen to do the sealent side. claims of £1500 min per week seemed unachievable to me (unless of course your overcharging!!).
Like you say with winter what are they going to do?, but when i think of how bad summer was for doing sealing you would of ended up unable to work, or doing a crap job cos its not dry etc.

One to keep our eyes on, how new are they?

not such a good deal if its 12-15k!!!!!!

On the test results, its a  good sign if they are slow to contact you, when they do find something serious they are usually straight on the blower to your doc or to you, so fingers crossed!
