How does you 10'' RO perform?
« on: April 22, 2015, 12:28:19 pm »
I currently run a Purefreedom 450 gallon per day RO and have recently replaced all membranes and filters.

The unit runs with a mains booster pump to enhance performance, when I first installed the pump I could get the reading down to 4ppm before DI resin.

After just replacing everything, the lowest reading I can get is 10.

It was only reading 27 before I replaced it all and I'm wondering was it worth it.

Could it be that the pump is not pumping sufficiently or could it be that the membranes aren't doing as good a job as the original ones.

i use a 350 ro,     from tap = 148tds.
with booster pump running before ro it goes down to ,  11  then 7 then 6,         then i will put into di vessel,      wait for around 5 minutes then it will go from 2 or 1   then down to 0,    then it goes into 220 butt, ready for harvesting ;D :D
ive just got another 220 butt from aldi,       down to £18  from £28
we love a good deal

ive been thinking of getting a 450 ro,
has anyone went from a 350  to a 450 RO system,      any difference ??? in water production

450 GPD ro from Doug at daqua.

No booster pump.

090 TDS in.

000 TDS out.

Then I put it through a DI vessel just for good measure.

Thanks for the input guys.

Looks like mine is performing about the same as most others then.

No idea how it used to make 4ppm when I first bought it.

That's almost mud.  Mines 160 and comes out, before DI, about 6 I think.

If a R O is funtioning correct it should bring your TDS down to 10% of the starting amount so a 330 tds should come to 33 and less if higher is not in good shape. I was told by gaps and have proved over the 8 years I have done windows, but RO membranes quality will differ. If I cannot get my ro down to 10% I will never buy that membrane again. I only use the 150 gal membranes from Gapps as they are fantastic and work well for many years. I am on my second set in 5 years. Quality.
