big or small Van?
« on: April 29, 2015, 09:16:41 am »
I'm only starting out so maybe I should just go for a ford connect with 500litre water tank fixed. I think the insurance will be cheaper as well because of the smaller engine size and easier to find parking?

I'm not comfortable with having the ladder at the top, people might steal it at night time when I part on the street. Having a bigger van will allow me to put everything inside the van.

what do you think?

If you use ladder clamps which are lockable and if you use two locks this will solve the the thief problem.

If you are converting to WFP I would keep ladder at home .

Otherwise you could get custys asking you to do it trad .

Persons are working longer hours and then coming home and enjoying the lighter nights with their families ?
I'm at home atm as my son's had a trauma accident with his teeth , hence I'm taking a few days of each week to look after him .

If you still want ladders I'd buy a set of multi ladders, they fold down to about 3 ft high.

Of all the size vans I have used for window cleaning  large and small the very best all rounder is the Citroen dispatch ideal for one of two men the higher models take 600 Ltrs on board and the poles fit in nicely over head, easy to repair, excellent durability great fuel economy.

The best thing about a big van is you can pop in the back to have a wee. Something i'm struggling with in my Berlingo !!!  ;D  Ladders don't even come into the equasion, although i do have an A frame inside mine !!  Yeah, and i've noticed it quiet ...

Yeah lol that's the dilemma when your having the tank put in when you first get the van,you have to work out where there's gonna be enough room for the old bucket bog lol
