Hi Guys

It's that Yell time of year again and I have the rep telephoning on Thursday.

I have a presence in the book which just about pays for itself but haven't bothered on-line for a few years.

Does anyone make this work, I am not in a great need of more jobs but good quality ones are always appreciated.

If it does work what is the secret?

ive advertised Yell for about twenty years now and although I make money from it, I have seen quite a steady decline over the last I would say 6-8 years,  I spend about £3400 per year but make about £15000 so about £12000 net profit
so it still works for me, but not as well as it used to, I dont have much faith in Yell online, I did get some free Advertising last year with Yell .com but hasn't realy worked
I will continue to advertise in the book for as long as I can make a decent profit
I have noticed that the book, certainly has only half the entries it had about five years ago, I dont think Yell helped themselves when they significantly reduced the size of the book

would prefer to spend 3400 on some descent promo video, that would give you this profit every year once spend, not every year paying for it.

not all adverts in yp are the same ! Mine works well, thats why I still sdvertise with them, I wouldn't consider waisting money on the ccn as quite a few on here have tried it  and not made anything

yes I know, but dont you think professional video placed on descent website, payed once, will give you the same, as most of people visit few website before choosing you, so vide makes you better, more professional. I dont know, you may have it already.
Look dailly poppins, crapy cleaning but their video give them more business.
Wish I could afford some video myself. Its my plan.

I have a video on my website, just a very basic one of upholstery cleaning but better than nothing,
as for my yellow pages advertising,  it still works for me at the momment , but if it drops off I will just cancell it
