Bad payers
« on: March 27, 2015, 01:04:01 pm »
I,ll be the first to admit i,m rubbish at keeping an eye on my late payer's. In the last year or two i have had to use dept recovery company' each time they get the money - 10%. A hotel owed me 5k, got after about 2 weeks, an engineering company owned me about 3k got that straight away. The latest one a managing agent owed me about 6k, i have been told the bacs payment will be made this week. If anyone want the details of these collector's give me a shout.

This is over a number of years, and i did say i,m pretty rubbish at keeping an eye on bad payers, although it is nice when this money comes in in big lumps.

For most of the guys on here that's only six weeks worth of work, so you could miss it very easily. ;D

I panic if I don't see a customers payment in the bank a few days after cleaning. Text gets sent out to remind them. Start missing the odd payment and it all gets messy

Yes i did pay out approximately £1400 to dept recovery.  Big companies often think they can get away without paying, and the will fob off a small business like mine hoping i,ll go away, its a last resort using a d recovery, but it does work and worth paying for £1400 to get £14000, no brainer. Like i said in the 1 st post i,ll pass on details if anyone in trouble.

It happens.. i think its pretty common in small business. especially if you are on commercial jobs.

well done for getting it sorted.

what is the minimum debt they'll chase?
