I'm getting sick of having a van and a car. I have been looking at ford ranger truck double can. Does anyone have one of these. How big a tank have you got and is there enough room for a gutter vac.thanks

I had one. I managed to get a 650 custom made tank in but that was a squeeze and the gutter vac had to go in the back seat. I found fuel usage was a bit of a mare. Also if the vehicle is off the road you have nothing else. I went over to a van and car and feel a lot happier. Just my experience, your may end up being different.

E&M is your man depending on your budget I would go for an L200 with super select 4wd transmission .

Can be driven on dry Tarmac or wet roads in 4h gear up to 60mph , no other truck is able to do this or turn corners up to a certain speed in 4wd .

Their a Toyota hilux up a wall sitting on its towbar because he didn't know how to drive it properly .

I had a test drive of the new ford ranger Wildtrak over Xmas, superb bit of kit! The handling, comfort ect just like a car. Would make a great window cleaning vehicle, but wouldn't be much room for anything else.  

Now give me an F150 any day and I would make everything fit!!

I have a Super Cab Ranger which takes a 400 litre flat tank and CLX-22, battery, pump, hose reel and DI unit. It depends on how many people you need to carry. The Double Cab is best all round but the super cab which has a bed length getting a foot longer is just about right plus I can take the kids to school as well. If you only want to carry just yourself or one other person then the regular cab is great and gives you around 7.5 feet of load space. Put a mountain top on it and would carry just about anything plus most lengths of pole. Reckon on 25-30mpg from an IDI and 30+mpg from the common rail - latest version 35+

Iv got new transit connect the cab is just like a car and it has 3 seats.

Newer and I think older L200's do not have DPF any truck or van that has a DPF is a nightmare if you do short  drives stop and starts they choke up in no time at all .


All new trucks have them  the L200 is Unique in a number of ways which make them the best .

I've got a L200 Warrior, I had started out looking at the Ranger as ford is on my doorstep.
I needed space for kids and suited me better all round. If you go for a conopy/hardtop then you'll be restricted by height, 350 upright tank was my max. M&M has a 500 flat and you can get custom tanks from t'internet. Plastic tanks direct? Depends what else you carry, I can get the 350l, pressure washer, generator, poles, reel, sand and cement. But it's fecking heaving.

 I have a 400 ltr flat tank but you could fit a 600ltr flat tank in the load bed .
