Nearly every suite I do doesn't need doing

did one  today, it looked no different when I'd finished! I had to give  the customer a verbal pat on the back for being so sensible and having thier suite cleaned before it got too bad

It seams every time I'm thinking of a new way to make the customer feel ok about the outcome, as visually it's no different. I'm starting to be an expert at BS.

should I just refuse to do them? Or tell them to give it another 6 months and call me gain ( which is something I Must do a couple of times a month on the ones that look brand new)

Sounds like what you are doing now is working well. Some of the suites I get call out on need to be chucked.

not as bad as being asked to clean  "clean" carpets, i hate that!!!   how do you impress when its clean before you start?  if done a fair few recently where
its e.o.t. and they are just having them done as its on the letting agency contract, they know it doesnt need cleaning, i know it doesnt need cleaning, but still gotta do em!!!!

Funny how things change, someone said to me about 4 or 5 years ago, you'll soon get fed up of cleaning mingers and you'll realise the money is in clean carpets and suites, as always i thought naaaaa. i love the dirty suites and i will always tell the customer to give it a few more months/years before it needs cleaning. 

i still love the challenge of the mingers but give me a clean one all day long, in and out in no time and charge the same. in fact you can usually get more for a clean suite.

I think I've used the analogy of dusting before.

You dust everyday and you think you're wasting your time. Leave it another day or so and with the build-up of dust you realize why you dutifully dust.

Same too with suites. Leave it too long and you realize you should have cleaned it sooner.

But I agree you don't halve think you're spouting BS. But if the client didn't think it needed cleaning they wouldn't have contacted you in the first place.

Exactly Dr Carpet....every time I come across an as new suite I always mention it to customer to which they usually reply..."we know it doesn't look dirty but we want it freshened up anyway"...who am I to argue, the customer is always right.

People who get things cleaned keep it clean. I used to think that people with dirty carpets would like them to be cleaned but that is not the case people with perfect houses are the ones I just clean as I am directed.

ive switched from hwe to encap nothing to do with what cleans best

its that the majority of carpet I clean have just a few spots on them great vac and a bit of spotting run over with oreck done .

did 2 rooms h/s/l this am done in a hour 2 off us .

still havent cracked the suite keep quoting £160 and they say we will ring back

Their are a couple of problems with cleaning suite that don't show any visable sign of dirt. the customers often have it cleaned because of a solitary stain, (the suite I cleaned yesturday had a ink stain) so unless you are successful and remove the stain then you have not done your job to thier satisfaction but If the suite is filthy you Can get half the dirt & stains out  and it looks like you've done a fantastic job.

The second problem is you can clean a  clean suite in 90 mins it can be hard to justify a high price for  such a short time........so you end up tidying the van or surfing the web on your iPad. It's not too bad i

Sounds to me you using The fastrack marketing system which is designed to weed out the mingers and only clean nice carpets and suites in nice homes 

I say well done  And you can also claim most suites dried immediately as you just need to dry vac

I do an Indian woman's 4 bed house every 6 months, the carpets were immaculate when I first HWE them and now I just encap them.
She admits to having an OCD towards cleaning and vacs every carpet every day.
They are the cleanest carpets I have ever seen, funnily enough though she never has the uh done.
Apart from the smell most of the carpets when I'm done don't look any different but she's quite happy to pay.

I do a similar thing for an old lady who was brought up in Domestic Service and has all her carpets and upholstery done twice a year.She's fastidious about being clean and tidy.

They look no different whatsoever.I did the sofas at Xmas and she will be calling me soon I'm sure.

I love cleaning ' clean' carpets and suites, the thing is you do what the client asks,whether it needs cleaning or not, it's not just the visible but maybe the fact that if it's been a year then there is a years more worth of crap on it, I hate cleaning mingers and preference the nice jobs in nice houses that have the income to afford to have there stuff cleaned when they want, I have a full service on my car and van every year cause I want to keep them on the road, I probably don't need to but I do anyway, also I tell the client that it won't look much different when it's done but they always say ' but WE know it's clean'
