question for alex gardiner about backpack switch
« on: March 02, 2015, 11:30:01 am »
Hi  when you replace a backpack switch there is three wires coming from the switch would you help me as to where the wires go because there isn't any instructions . I know what everyone is thinking just look at old switch with wires and copy that but my problem is I didnt know they sold the switches  so I rewired it for another switch , the three bullet connectors are still inside  so its only a matter off connecting the new switch to original wires but I dont know which because all wires are yellow , anybody can answer that might have a backpack its the mk 2

Just turn on the switch, and try touching the wires in different combinations until the pump fires up, then fasten them up, and voila !

On the odd occasions that I have had to swap one of these I usually just look at what the old switch is connected to before connecting the new one up the same way.

However having looked at a photo I have I can see that the middle connection goes to the fuse wire and the connection nearest the pump side goes to the battery plug.
