Air in the system; last job of the day is a good combat indicator, especially as Dave says, if it's a layflat tank.

Make sure your pump is as close to the van floor as possible; mine's right on the floor.

Just let your pump run without the reel hose attached and it'll clear (as long as the tank's water level is above the outlet).

Might be totally wrong but on mine the black wire to black wire on controller was not connected properly and pump ran but no water

There could be a grain of dirt inside the pump and is causing the non return valve to not seat properly. Like the good old needle and seat on the old carburetors of yesteryear.

You maybe able to blow a jet of water through it with your garden hose in the direction of flow.

Otherwise open up and have a look. Be vigilant as there is a hairpin spring inside behind the non return valve which is easily lost. Your a mechanic so it should be an easy investigation.

Change of subject.

I thought of you over the Christmas break. I wish it just took me 45 minutes to change the cambelt on my Citroen Relay.
