I live in East London on the second floor. So if I get a van with the system, I won't have any where to make the pure water and leave the van overnight to transfer. what is the best thing to do?

I been looking for garages to rent but they usually don't come with water supply. anyone on ever had this problem or do you all have big houses to make pur water without a problem?

Btw, where can i go and find people who can install window cleaning systems.

I'm thinking get a van first then install the system because if I can't find somewhere to park the van and make the pure water then I will have to do it traditionally.

I use a twin DI system in the van and use the customers water to fill tank and i live in a hard water area. Spend about £80 a month on resin but still works out way cheaper than renting a unit.

There is a big seller of pure water so you could simply buy your pure on a daily basis, other options are to chat with family or friends they may be able to let you use their supply and store the water in the garden, or if your handy with the gift of the gab, find a local company with a yard and offer them say £30 per month to store an IBC and fill from their water supply - you could throw in a free window clean as well

it might be causing you some hassle as you get busier and busier if you have to rely on someone to buy your pure water!!
it would be much better to try to figure out where after paying a monthly fee you could independently get to filter your own water.
having the whole system installed in your car will cost you a few thousand pounds.
At night Would it be safe to park your van on the street? making sure your di system doesn't freeze in winter
if I were you I would start working as trad , see how busy you get and then go wfp if possible!

i was thinking that as well. There's a roof outside my window and I was thinking put a 500 litre water tank on top and make pure water by getting water supply from the bath room. I wonder if the roof hold 500kg of weight and how I'm i going to transport the pure water into my van from second floor. I can get a 100 litre tank on trolley but I still need somewhere to store the trolley.

is DI system much faster than RO system? it will take hours will it? don't see how you get time to do that

He fills the van mounted tank with tap water then places to DI vessels after the pump in van and it produces pure on demand .

So you turn pump on to clean windows and you get pure water coming through .

Might be worth you exploring.
Then you could get a unit and be their supplier of pure water.
Bet you'd only need two or 3 regulars to cover the costs and your water would effectively be free.

I know a guy who has exactly the same problem as you.  

Here is how he solved it:

1) He got a DI only system for his van with twin DI tanks.

(Unlike using RO, when you use DI the tank will fill as fast as the water comes out of the tap.  Also there's no reject water.  You simply attach the tap and fill.  His system puts the water through the DI on its way out of the tank, so he literally just fills the tank with tap water, and it gets purified as he uses it.  Very simple)

2) He went to a local petrol station and said to the guy, "please could I use your water every day to fill my tank.  It is 400 litres, and I'll pay double what it costs you from the water company." the garage owner was happy to help, and he pays £2.50 every time he goes there.  So he parks up, sets it filling, and has a cup of coffee and a read of the paper inside the garage while he's waiting.  It takes about 20 minutes.

To me that seems like a great arrangement. Yes he has to pay about £10 a week to the garage, but its London, and look at how much you can earn in a week of window cleaning.  Also, DI is more expensive than RO, but in his (and yours?) case it was a case of necessity.  It's possible to buy pure water from here and there, but personally I'd rather be self-sufficient.

He got, on my advice (   ), a Pure2o system (www.pure2o.co.uk) which shuts off the water when the tank is full.  He approached a petrol station, but you could equally go to a local cafe, hotel, or other business and they'll probably be very happy to help.

A few years ago I enquired about a stand pipe license as I also live in a flat 14 floors up. I'm sure it's the local water company who deals with that stuff and not the council.

I can't remember how much it was per cubic metre but the shock of the cost took my breath away.

Hi. i live in a fourth floor flat with my girlfriend.

we can only get one parking permit and her car has it! (she was here first)

I park a 5min walk down the street in a quiet cul de sac and travel 15mins to my parent house to fill van up with pure!

its a ball ache, only have 45 custies a month so its not that bad yet, but gonna be a pain when i get busier, we are looking to move into a rented house later this year tho

Bottom line is its going to be a ball ache i suppose you need relatives/friends to fill up from?
