Would turning that screw at the top of pump improve my flow or is it time to replace, both pump & controller. I don't really rate a controller I would just put it on max and go.

You can remove the controller altogether and just work with your pump.  It'll give you an impressively fast flow.  You'll have to reconnect your pump's pressure switch to do this; takes about ten minutes to do and is very simple.

The pump's pressure switch will turn the pump off when you stop the flow from your hose or disconnect your hose from your reel.

But yes the Ionics system I had used the pressure switch to cut off the pump

Geez; so their £210 controller does the same as mine; total cost of mine - with all the bits - about a tenner.

Will be converting to two man system soon so will use the Ionics controller for that .

I use a two-man system and have just DIY'd two separate flow controllers.  It's very simple.  You just treat each pump like it's a stand-alone system and wire a separate controller to each of them.

Amazing how they home the prices , the pump they sell is aquatec and the charge £165 for one !

Yes, you're not wrong:

Ionics (before VAT)

Do you use two pumps Tosh? I've just taken someone on and we're just using one pump and one controller with a splitter.

Yes, two pumps.  I split the outlet hose from the tank and just run two separate pumps and controllers as if they're separate systems; apart from the power supply.

It was the way I was advised to do it on this forum.

Works fine!?

Up until now one pump is ok. The problem would be if it failed of course.

We use microbore (100m reel and a 60m reel); I think it's asking a lot to ask for one pump to push out through that.

But a knowledgeable friend tells me that diaphragm pumps are designed to be worked hard (he installs RO systems into things like cruise ships and understands all about pumps and RO systems on a massive scale).

So I dunno if one pump or two is good or not.
