a while back I drilled a couple more holes in my brush and put 2 extra jets in, thinking work would would be well easier. Couldn't really tell the difference, just had them in there since. I've been reading some threads on getting quicker with the pole now the weather's gone bad, has anyone else experienced 4 jets and do you think it's any better with regards to speed. Cheers.

I used 4 jets on a tucker 18 inch brush for commercial work - absolutely useless, even at full flow all I got was barely more than a dribble per jet.

I use 4 jets on commercial work with my gardiner slx35 and 45cm super lite brush and it makes a massive difference, if youve got a commercial brush then 4 jets is essential for water spread on the glass, if it's a standard brush then personally I'd say a waste of time, just turn the flow rate up with 2 jets ...

Well it was a bit Heath Robinson set up with 4 gardiner fan jets, so may have needed tweaking. I was planning to re visit when I get some free time

It's a trade-off between pressure and volume, go back to two this afternoon I think.

This delves into flow dynamics, expansion rates and volume at the brush head. You have not mentioned what size jets were being used.
Commonly in the UK it is likely to be 2mm pencil jets or so. Where in the US  thee tendency is to use a larger fan jet.  The size and type will have an effect of producing either a curtain or narrow jet of water.

It is also worth considering the size of the hose as it will have an effect on how much volume you have at the brush a larger pump with higher pressure may not mean you get more volume of water. This is because of back pressure created by the hose and other factors

The interesting thing to note is what suits one application and set up may not suit another, sometimes it takes some experimentation to find the best set up for you and the type of work be undertaken

IMO the amount makes no difference it's the flow rate of water,10 jets piddling out water won't be any quicker than 2 at a low flow rate,I use a high flow of water with 2 jets not fans as they are far more accurate and don't spray water where you don't want it.

Love my fan jet son high flow. On lower flow, its like pencil jets anyway. Didn't like them at first. Keep connecting pencil jets up, but on some glass I don't like them. Overall, fan jets for me

Old chestnut is an excuse wheres in my experience with fans it's a fact lol,I would only use fans on huge panes of glass like car showrooms and the like I don't like the noise they make on windows either,customer don't like them either it gives the impression your jet washing them from the inside due to the noise on the glass they sound your.
