well al started of realy well .got to next job got hose ready to reel in.started to reel in took my eye off it for a second hose jumped off reel getting jammed bettween reel and  frame luckely not the cog side.so got it un tangled only to find it had blown a fuse.thats when the trouble started.out came the crank handel.to manuley wind  the hose in.how ever.the handel hits the bracket which holds the motor.so you have to bend the bracket to wind in not good thats flaw 1.next is the fuse its a tiny glass fuse/i could not find one any ware .tride 3 motor factors not a chance.so what i did was to change the fuse holder to the spade type..put it all back to gether. a couple of bends in the crank arm bingo alls well.what a day.conclution get the crank handel sorted properly with out having to bend it ,and change the fuse holder to the spayed type so you can obtain them more easiley. im looking forward to having a play tomorrow.i cant stress enough keep a eye on the hose .all should be well

perhaps you can rig up some sort of guard so that the hose doesn't jump off the reel? you would have thought that the manufacturer would have foreseen those issues and sorted them prior to selling.

just curious....what happens when you snag your hose on something? will you have to change the fuse everytime?

posibly but try not to.ive changed fuse holder type so i can get the spayed type easily

Why done you use a cloth to clean the hose as its winding in? Then you will be able to guide the hose

+1 that's whst I do, nothing worse than all that dog hair wet muck the hose drags into the van!

Why do they make them with crap side guards? its electric, so weight isn't as important. Large solid sides, tapered at the top so hose cant go down the sides. It snot rocket science, is it

I`ve got the best auto rewind reel there is. Never breaks, reliable and never jams. It is however quite costly to run as it demands at least one coffee a day and can be quite bad tempered at times plus sometimes I have to give it day off every now and again but at the end of the day my Ted automatic rewind reel is the best.
