How not to use a step ladder!!

If you stand on a step ladder then perform any sort of work at 90 degrees from the line on which the ladder is placed Newton's Law of equal and opposite reaction means any pressure exerted results in thrust the other way.

In other words, run up a step ladder then push to one side, the ladder will fall over the other way!!

I've seen it time and again.

Over the last few weeks I've been searching the tinternet for a petrol vacuum and all I come across is lawn vac's.
If you have to spend £600-1000 for poles + vac and another £450-600 for a generator then surely you can get a petrol vac for around the same price?
I'll be buying new safety equipment for ladder use so I won't be buying any gutter vac's just now.

Roots driven blowers the blue thing in that vid driven by petrol motor has been used in various indurstries for yonks. What make that rig special is how he has addapted it with that filtration box to catch all the crud which protects the blower from damage whitout dramatically reducing the huge suction power when using and really long lengths of hose.

Most van mout carpet cleaning machines have roots or other brand of blowers fitted to the system for water recovery from the wand.

You can't really make a portably petrol version either as those roots blower are so heavy to cart about let alone the filter recovery box you would need fort it. Hence why you see it on a trailer with hugh empty reel where the vac hose is stored.

Puting that lot together is going to cost a darn site more than buying a generator & electric gutter vac that's for sure ;D
