I think you are leaving the filter change to long mick, I use the 20" pre filters and used to change them every 3 to 6 months, that's when my membrane expired quickly, after reading some posts by Alex I realised that the carbon filter is only good for a max 5 weeks with the quantity of water I put through it. Now I change them every 4 weeks.

I am currently using a vyair (hf4 equivalent) membrane 99% rejection rate, it's slower than than the hf5 I had - I haven't fully checked the production rate yet, approx 250 ltrs p/h

The hf5 was belting it out at 400 ltrs p/h, but could only produce 11 TDS

id love to produce at 11.
im getting a new membrane next month, will get a hf4 and swap to 2o inch filters and see if i get any change of production ppm.

nick your problem is that tap,u need a tap that you can fine adjust to get the best out of your membraine,its also the cheapest option to try before anything else

I would have thought PF would have already gone through testing various flows and drilled a relief hole to suit the optimal performance, you can if you wish crack open the valve to allow a little more waste through ( personally this has never improved the TDS output on the pure for me ) but yes, you could simply replace the PF valve with a standard black item and tweak from there just be careful not to have it fully closed
