Is it not just air locked? I don't understand why doing that would break the pump.

Does it make a noise? Have you changed the fuse? What machine is it?

Get a male open ended QC and attach to the pump outlet on the machine and turn on, make sure there is some water in the clean water tank, let it flow for a min and then try with a hose and tool.

Do you mean the fuse at the plug Neil? The vac is working fine but the pump isn't making any noise I think I filled the water up by the filter.

You're right I've never hear of it.

I'm guessing it just has a shurflo 135psi pump. Around £130 last time I checked so may just need replacing.

Id save up and get a better machine, one that will be reliable and people can help you with.

Electrical burning sounds like it may be nackered!!

Yeah the electrical burning I did not like at all although with the vac still working I figured it wasn't completely knackered, maybe anew circuit board or pump I don't know, just wondered if anyone else had made the same mistake or heard of someone else making the same mistake, thanks anyway Neil.I was hoping I'd get really busy about now so I could invest in a decent bit of kit but this is now a major setback.

You'll get used to the set backs, eventually you get to the point when something goes wrong and you just laugh it off.

Good lord , i doubt circuit boards were barely invented when these were made .  There will likely be just hard wiring to the pump and vac and two switches .
Open it up and see what happening inside , try to test to see if the pump is getting power .

Haha yeah John that's not the exact machine but it isn't a million miles from it the waters containers are side by side rather than back and front like that machine,I'm trying to get it opened, need to get some dw40 as screws are a bit rusted I hear what your saying about there maybe not being a circuit board I am confused as to why it tripped the custys electrics when the fuse in the plug didn't get blown?

If the waste tank gets full and it trips, then you need to open the machine up and let the electrics , wiring pump etc. dry out  if you placed an air mover or a fan near just blowing steadily it may help. As this has happened to me over the past years. normally it shouldn't blow a pump. My money is on the electrics have got wet., but it's just a suggestion.
