office window toil
« on: November 18, 2014, 03:16:31 pm »
Cleaned a four storey office block. Lots and lots of windows, every one has secondary double glazing. What a pain.
Thought I would share some advice for those doing similar jobs for the first time-
1. Price carefully, it will take longer than you thought.
2. Take at least one million towels/cloths.
3. Take several types of ladders and small steps when doing the insides.
4. Do outsides first.
5. Start v early so you can get some done before the employees arrive.

Thought I would share some advice for those doing similar jobs for the first time-
1. Price carefully, it will take longer than you thought. - always, every job
2. Take at least one million towels/cloths. - 1.2million if you can afford it
3. Take several types of ladders and small steps when doing the insides. - I thought ladders were illegal?
4. Do outsides first. - always, every job
5. Start v early so you can get some done before the employees arrive. -Then you won't get the office banter?

Good advice.
Worth considering as some office workers seem to have their arris permanently stuck to the chair and won't budge an inch to let you get to the window.
When this happens if you start talking in a loud voice about your contagious disease they seem to exit the room in a hurry.  ;)

Didn't get the price right but managed to get them to agree £200 more than they used to pay. :-\

Number 1 rule get inside as soon as possible, get in before the staff, expect first clean to take twice as long.
