Just been to have a look at one of these.
Fed up with van reckon a truck would suit my needs better, its a super cab great for occasional passengers on the weekends, non turbo model.
Anyone with experience of these ? How would it fair as a wfp vehicle ?
I know pole storage an issue but can sort that easily enough.
Think its a 1 ton payload,, hopefully more economical than a 4x4  ?
Opions/advice appreciated.

If it's a MK1 Supercab non-turbo it will only have 78 bhp and 120 lb ft so will either have to be very low geared and noisy or a bit more relaxed but will struggle to pull away when fully loaded on steep hills.
I have a Mk2 Supercab turbo with opening 'suicide' rear doors, 109 bhp and about 200 lb ft + a low range box when in 4wd.
If you want a 2wd then get a Ranger Mk3 or Mk4 as they have 141 bhp and go extremely well.
A CLX-22 fits in the back perfectly - anything bigger can be secured to the ladder rack.
Some parts for the non-turbo are expensive as they're aren't many of them left which include the clutch that is a bout twice the cost of the turbo version - worth considering.

I realise that but a pita when on a small screen phone which I was at the time.
Question related to a specific model aimed at other pick up users as to its suitability.

Dont get the fuel economy thing my L200 is driven in 2wd 99% of the time 4wd drive is only used as and when needed .

I dont know anything about ford rangers but i know the older L200 could only be driven up to 30mph in 4wd you are better off getting a 4wd because if it snows heavily this winter you will have more chance of getting out to work
