How soon after buying a round, would it be reasonable to raise the prices, without risking losing a lot of customers (first question i got from customers  when buying new round - you're not raising price are you?)

Do you wait a while? How long? Or does it depend on when it was last raised?

If not and you are still making money and doing ok from it, then I wouldn't raise them for a few years.

My son just bought some work off an old boy who retired.

He has cleaned them once and then raised the prices, to be honest nobody has queried it and he said they weren't to under priced.

Currently we're talking £5-6 for a 3 bed semi, in Leeds. I want at the very least £8, especially with moving to WFP.

No was just wondering as if for fronts it didnt sound too bad. I dont see why they wouod moan putting them up straight away as many of those customers must be expecting it to go up soon.

I was charging £7 for a 3 bed semi about 3 years ago, left and came back to it, so expect at least £8 now.

Personally I would wait at least a year before raising prices.

If they're not worth doing then raise your prices and expect to lose quite a few or put up with it. All depends how busy you are and whether you want to work underpriced

Don't get me wrong I have recently started increasing my new customers prices and I'm still picking up a lot, but in general around the area I work there's lots of trad cleaners who charge £6 for 3 bed semis.

With WFP you'll be doing 2 for every 1 you could've done trad.

Anyway, I'd wait until March before putting prices up.

1. Gives people a chance to see and get to know you and your quality of work.
2. Stops the excuse of leaving them over the winter
3. Spring is (IMO) a better time to increase prices with lots of new work also coming in

i agree with darran.although if the last guy was trad then he wont have cleaned the windows above conservatories/extensions and velux so you could add on a quid here and there for these windows maybe?

Ive just bought a round and to me the prices are between £1 and £2 under priced, ill be putting them up after xmas once I've done the 4th clean

I bought a round with similar prices in April but have 27 jobs on it (roughly £180) and they are all really close (only have to shift the van once!).

Planning on raising prices in April, when the weather is nice.

The highlight was one old woman, who had a 3 bed semi at £4!!! I said i may have to raise it soon to £5-6 (being very kind), and she said "no way, i could never afford that, way too expensive, thats ridiculous".... one more clean to get my money back, and then a brick through the window.
