Hi, the prochem blazer has two heat exchangers, there is a free slot for another heat exchanger. Has anyone added the extra one, is it hassle , is it worth doing?thanks

It's ok at the start, I use a rotovac quite a bit , so more water flow than my wand and I find the heat suffers .

What temperatures are you getting at the moment with the Rotovac? What pressure are you using?

When you start a job with the Rotovac, seal it to the carpet for a few minutes, this gets the heat exchangers to maximum temperature before you start using it. Also, make smaller passes with a drying pass, this allows the hx's to build heat back up and maintain a steady temp.
Adding another hx, which I presume will be an ambient, may impede the exhausting of blower exhaust gas which could cause the engine to work harder and overheat it. The spare bay may be empty for a reason.

Thanks Simon, I have a spare heat exchanger and was wondering was it visible. Sounds like it might cause problems so won't bother. Usually have the vac slot sealed with a tennis ball till I set up and water hot enough to start.

Simon not really use of the temp, use the rotovac at 300 psi.

If your machine is of any age it might be worth removing the ambient heat exchanger and giving it a clean as it can get covered with junk over time and undermine some of your heat capability.

Thanks Simon, yeah once a year I take them out a give the Finns a good clean. Had a machine that got so much carbon on the exchangers that it would heat the water.
